Wolf Hall
I recently finished reading Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel. I'm pretty sure this is the longest time I've spent reading any single book; I started it back in February/March when I was getting ready to go to Germany and I've only finished it now during the first few weeks of summer.
Wolf Hall is a huge brick of a book, a deep character study of Cromwell. For me it was extremely interesting to start understanding, and connecting to such a hated character from history.
I had very conflicted feelings about this as I was reading it; during the actual act of reading, I was completely absorbed in the feel of the milieu and the characters, but if I set it aside, I wouldn't necessarily want to go back to it. A part of this is due to the large size of the book, but another reason is that I'm writing my Extended Essay on the large cast of characters, and I'm a huge procrastinator when it comes to school work.
I'm looking forward to seeing how this series continues, since I'm planning on reading Bring Up the Bodies during 2015, and am currently watching the BBC adaptation of the novel.
