Collective Bookhaul, aka the time when Laura had no control
I've amassed quite a pile of books during December and January and truthfully, I don't know whether I should be proud or embarassed... What do you think?
Some of these (a big part) are books I got as Christmas presents and the rest I've bought by myself. I've already finished reading some of them so I'll say what I thought about them.
Solitaire by Alice Oseman
I've been looking forward to getting this book ever since it came out and I'm so thankful to have gotten it as a Christmas present. I've been talking to Alice on tumblr and she's such a cutie, I can't wait to read Solitaire!
Falling into Place by Amy Zhang
A really good friend of mine recommended this to me a while ago, but back then it was only available in Australia. I'm super glad to have gotten my hands on a copy.
Lola and the Boy Next Door and Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins
I've been in need of a contemporary fix and the perfect way to do that is by finishing this adorable series.
My True Love Gave to Me: Twelve Holiday Stories by Stephanie Perkins, Holly Black, Ally Carter, Matt de la Pena, Gayle Forman, Jenny Han, David Levithan, Kelly Link, Myra McEntire, Rainbow Rowell, Laini Taylor and Kiersten White
I have so much love for this book. It's a collection of the cutest holiday stories I've ever come across. I both gave and received this book as a Christmas present. Side note: look how pretty it is!!!
The Ask and the Answer and Monsters of Men by Patrick Ness
Ever since I finished reading the first book in this series, I knew I had to get the others as soon as possible.
Leijapoika by Khaled Hosseini, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë and Kilimandsaron lumet by Ernest Hemingway
I'm currently reading these three books for school. I really enjoyed both Leijapoika (the Kite Runner) and Jane Eyre, but I'm not done with Hemingway yet.
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
One of my penpals got this for me and I'll be reading it with book club during February.
Clockwork Angel, Clockwork Prince and Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare
I'm just really feeling the need to read this spin-off series...
City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare
...and finishing the original series.
The Iron Trial by Holly Black and Cassandra Clare
Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch
Can we just talk about the cover?
The Young Elites by Marie Lu
Dangerous Women and the World of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin
I'm literally the biggest Martin fan and I'm stockpiling on his books since I get to meet him during the summer, and can force him to sign them.
Horrorstör by Grady Hendrix
First of all, I really love the aesthetics of this book, the way it's made to look like an Ikea catalog. I started a book club at my school with a friend of mine and this was the first book we decided to read. The story was so gripping, I finished it one day.. when I should've been studying for exams.
What If? Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions by Randall Munroe
Let's be serious, the premise of this book sounds amazing.
Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Core Rulebook by Jason Bulmahn, Hank Woon, Tim Connors, Elizabeth Courts, Adam Daigle, David A. Eitelbach and Greg Oppedisano
I'm such a nerd.
